The cake was designed just like the picture we showed them.It was perfectly detailed and packed with flavor. They made a cake that matched our low budget. It's to bad they closed down because I would have loved to have bought more cakes from them.

Vanilla Bean was a very popular bakery in the Albany area that just recently closed shop, with the exception of wedding cakes. They make beautiful cakes and are willing to add/change anything. They are a bit expensive, but do a wonderful job. They will NOT place flowers on the cake so if you want that touch, you will have to do it yourself. Most florists will not touch the cake. We only ordered a show cake - to serve approximately 50 people -- but it was beautiful and worth the cost.

I enjoyed my Vanilla Bean experience :-) Very friendly and open to my - "you're the experts, please help me by making some suggestions" request. I so appreciated that (a lot of vendors seemed to want me to detail everything- if I could have done that, I'd have just made my own cake/ flowers/ dress!). Cake was moist, delicious and great icing. The made iced flowers to match the real ones to be added at the reception. Excellent value as well- it was nice to not be taken for a few (ok, a few hundred) simple slices of cake. It was great!

We wanted a cake that had 3 layers within each slice with 3 fillings (caramel, peanut butter, and mocha). They said that they could do it and even gave us a sample cake with exactly what I asked for. The sample cake was large (fed 12 people). It was wonderful. However, when I then tried to book that cake for my wedding cake, they said that they couldn't do 3 different fillings for a "wedding" cake. What's the difference????? Just make more. We finally decided on 2 fillings and they were able to do that and the cake was very moist and was very pretty. Design was just what I asked for.
