The State Room

Since our wedding everyone one raves about how amazing their experience at The State Room. It truly is albanys best kept secret. They go above and beyond any expectations that you will ever have. The food is phenomenal. The price is amazing and they include everything! We looked at every place in the Capital Region and The State Room blew us away! Thank you so much for everything that you have done. You made our wedding so unbelievably special. Everything was so beautiful and elegant! Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!

Tom & Lisa did an awesome job planning my wedding. my guest had nothing but 5 star comments to say about the food, the bartender, and the organization. Great job to The State Room.

If I could I would give the State Room 10 stars! They did an absolutely fantastic job from the second that we first contacted them. When looking for a venue site my husband and I met with other sites where the coordinators were pushy and demanding. The staff at The State Room were all fantastic and you get to know everyone! They really showed us how much they love the work that they do and that they are the best around. The food is all cooked on site and is out of this world. Throughout our wedding night and after people continued to tell us that it was the best they had ever had. They go above and beyond on everything and help you along all steps of the way. I would recommend them to everyone and feel so lucky that we were able to work with them!

The State Room is a truly magical place to get married. From our very first meeting and walkthrough, the staff bent over backward to make me, my husband, and family, feel comfortable and welcomed. We planned our wedding from Los Angeles, and a huge draw for both my husband and I to choose The State Room was their in-house wedding coodinator. Unfortunately, the 2 coordinators who started planning my wedding ended up leaving half way through my engagement, but they were replaced with two fully capable people who did a beautiful job picking up where the others left off. Lisa, in particular is very experienced and helpful. I even cried saying goodbye to her when we came back to The State Room the Monday after our wedding to pick up our belongings. She was a great source of support and became a dear friend. We had both our ceremony and reception at The State Room. At first I was concerned about everything being in the same space, but the staff is so dialed in to turn the room around expeditiously. For those who are curious about how this works: Once your ceremony ends, your guests exit the ballroom in to the lobby, and then in to the DeWitt Clinton lobby which is adjacent to the State Room. They do not even have to exit the building. Within minutes, the ballroom is transformed for your cocktail hour. Anyone who has attended a State Room wedding will attest to the phenomenal food. So many guests told us the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. Many of our guests also mentioned the stellar service and all of the beautiful appointments in the room. In fact, several guests and bridal party members approached me to say it was all around the best, most elegant wedding they'd ever attended. This is a guarantee you will receive from The State Room. They are super flexible to work with any of your ideas for decor and theme, whether it's event lighting or room configuration. Their #1 priority is pleasing the client. The owner, Tom Nicci, looks after the brides and grooms as if they were his family. He is the wedding day chauffeur and you have a choice from several of his beautiful antique cars. This is included in the price. They also pay for a standard room on the wedding night at one of the two local hotels. We used the credit toward a suite at 74 State down the road. I should mention that our wedding was the weekend of hurricane Irene. You never would have known the sheer chaos outside the doors of The State Room during our wedding. Tom and his staff made sure to provide awnings outside the front entrance to cover our guests, and kept the party moving as normal. Tom was also a tremendous help in the rain for our photos. We still drove around downtown Albany and tucked in to little covered spaces for beautiful photographs with the car. It is a testament to the professionalism of the State Room staff that the day went off without a hitch despite the terrible weather. I would unquestionably recommend The State Room to anyone considering having their wedding there. My husband and I couldn't imagine having had our big day anywhere else.

The second my husband and I walked in The State Room we knew that was where we we're going to get married. The room is absolutely breathtaking and the staff is great to work with! Tom, Lisa and Steve we're always there to answer our questions and we're pretty flexible with us. We ran into a few problems with miscommunications and ended up mysteriously loosing a very important gift bag we left there the night of the reception but overall everything was perfect and all of our guests keep telling us how beautiful and elegant everything was and that the food ws great!

We had our mind set on another venue before we visited the State Room. The first time we went there, we had 2 appointments back to back with the State Room and the venue we thought for sure we'd have our wedding at. The State Room blew us away with their passion to make our wedding perfect. Which they did. Everybody had the best time. The food was outstanding--everyone raved about it all night--and the staff was professional and courteous. Plus, the room is simply gorgeous. Even if you think you know where you want to get married, you should make an appointment and just look at it.

Perfect in every way! And not your cookie-cutter wedding- you can expect a high-class affair with good food and wonderful ambiance. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Tom, Renee, Anjie...the list goes on! Albany\'s best-kept secret, for sure.

I honestly can't say enough about the State Room. From the food to the service and every little detail that the staff went above and beyond for, it was the best night of our lives. I can't thank Tom, Anjie, Renee and the rest enough. Working with the staff to plan the wedding, I knew they were on top of everything and that it would all go perfectly, but they exceeded our expectations tenfold. Do yourself a favor and book the State Room today!

My daughter's wedding reception was PERFECT in every way. We shopped around extensively before choosing the State Room. We knew we'd found the right place as soon as we met Anjie and Tom. They were wonderful, and provided for our every need. Anjie kept in touch frequently, and she was always available if we had any questions or needed anything. She was happy to provide contacts for everything: cake, flowers, makeup artists, hair stylist, dj, the works! She took great care with every detail to make sure that the wedding was just as we had always dreamed! I've been to 10 weddings this past year, and none come even close to our State Room wedding!

The State Room is the absolute Best place to have a wedding.. Everyone we talk to keep telling us it was the best wedding they had ever been to!! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! They made it so easy from beginning to end for Fred and I and we can not thank them enough for everything they did to make our day so perfect!
