Joy Burke was fantastic in every sense of the word!!!! Her loving spirit, professionalism, flexibility and responsiveness to our special requests made our special day just perfect. AND we were going to write our own vows until we read how Joy fashioned our vows around some very brief comments about our religious backgrounds and what brings meaning to our lives. Being a non-traditional couple didn't distract Joy's purpose at all....she is an open-minded, loving soul who wants to make your ceremony all that you want it to be. In a phrase, Joy gets it!!!!! Reverend Joy met with us at her home in her sitting room and within an hour we decided she would be the best officiant for us. She was very organized and professional and yet personal. Our ceremony was perfect and she created a ceremony that reflected who we are and what we believe in, she included all of the elements that were important to us. She also gave us ideas of what elements we could use in the ceremony and she communicated with us all along the way helping us arrive at our big day relaxed and ready. Family and friends commented on how personable she was and what a wonderful speaker she is. We knew that we would not only have a ceremony that was well suited to us but that she would help us organize things so that on the day of the wedding everything went smoothly. She guided us with confidence and caring. I would highly recommend her to anyone that wants an officiant that is warm and professional at the same time.

Reverend Joy Burke just recently officiated our wedding on 10-1-2011. She was absolutely wonderful! We wanted a spiritual ceremony that incorporated different traditions such as the unity candle and a handfasting. We used a pumpkin for our unity candle.:-) so fun! We also wanted to stand in some kind of a circle so Joy suggested that all of the guests write messages on river rocks prior to the ceremony, then all the Groomsmen collect them and place them into a circle for my husband and I to stand in. We did it and I was overjoyed when I looked down during the ceremony at all the messages on the rocks. We could really feel the love. It was an awesome experience and we could not have had our dream wedding ceremony without Reverend Joy!

Joy did a beautiful job as our officiant for our wedding last month. My husband was interested in a more Catholic inspired service and Joy truly listened to our needs and created a personal and touching ceremony for us. She was highly responsive and professional in all of our interactions and was easy to get in touch with as our needs changed. Rev. Joy Burke was an absolute dream to work with! My husband and I had an interfaith ceremony and she captured both the catholic religion and jewish religion. She was very hands on and a delight to work with. The finishing touches to our ceremony made it so special and are extremely happy that we were able to work with her! Joy created a personalized ceremony for our wedding that was truly special. She went out of her way to visit our home (the site of the wedding) previous to our day so she could get a feel for the land where the ceremony took place, because the setting was a very important part of our entire wedding. She took the time to incorporate all the little special details that we wanted, and made our day very special for us. Joy was wonderful. She is accepting of all couples, traditions and religions. She will listen to what YOU want and will create an amazing ceremony for you. She is also very respectful of your time. She understands that people have jobs, and family lives, and are planning a wedding. Whenever I contacted her she got back to me with a response within a few hours, not days. She had a very flexible meeting schedule including nights and weekends. Joy had factual and fun information that made the whole process a little more relaxed. She even gave me advice about current wedding trends that resulted in me wearing shoes that matched my bridesmaid's dress rather than a traditional white. The ceremony she created for us was unique and memorable. Our guests say it was a wedding they will never forget. One guest told me, "When I go to work and people ask how the wedding was, I will have something to tell them rather than just, 'Oh you know, it was a wedding'." Our ceremony ended with a Guinness toast as a symbol of how our relationship began. Joy also worked with our request to have family and friends do readings and blessings and worked them into the ceremony with ease. Joy will create a wonderful and unique ceremony for your and your partner that you and your guests will never forget.

Joy was simply a "joy" to work with. We are very grateful to have found her to be our wedding officiant. Joy responded quickly to our initial inquiry on line and certainly made us feel relaxed and welcomed in her home as we started to plan the details of the wedding ceremony. My husband and I really had a hoot and enjoyed the ceremony planning questionaires and histories Joy had prepared. Joy had a plethora of ceremony, poems and reading examples to choose from to help us write our own vows, and to help make our ceremony distinctly special for us and our family and friends. Reverend Joy was so great to work with! We planned a wedding in New York from Chicago, and only had a chance to meet her once before the weddng.
