Hummingbird Hall

Kenneth & I got married @ Humminbird Hall December 8 2011. We are from Texas and were going on a cruise with our kids and parents and were looking for somewhere that would work with us being a strict time frame and that didn't cost a fortune. There were 2 places in Montego Bay that we looked @, but immediately after looking at the photos on H.H's website we fell in love with the entire package. I am extremely particular on details, and Alisha was AMAZING and acepted every single one of my ideas. Our package was a basic "elopement" package so it didn't include alot of extras (DJ, photographer, custom flowers) But Alisha was happy to let me ave my "upgraded" bouquet at no additional charge, because I didn't have a bridal party, so only 1 bouquet was needed. We didn't realize til less than a month before that we didn't have a photographer or DJ (which I did panic about). You can ring your own music on an I-Pod for them to use instead of paying for a DJ, which actually worked alot better since we weren't there long enough to fully use a DJ. The photographer part was going to be tricky, but completely unexpected, Alisha stepped in and took about 500 breathtaking photographs with our camera. The staff also went around the property and caught us a few butterflies for the butterfly release as a surprise. There was one staff member that went above and beyond that day, she went out of her way to help me and my daughters get ready for the ceremony, eleviating so much stress and made my wedding day even more perfect. I had a very specific image that I was looking for in my wedding and Hummingbird Hall created everything I envisioned and more. I have recommended them to everyone that I know that is getting married. We will definitely return to Rose Hall Estate in the future. There really couldn't be a better choice of venue in Montego Bay:)

What can I say, the overall service was amazing. Being from the UK and organising a wedding abroad left some anxiety on whether we were going to have our dream wedding. As a recent Hummingbird bride I cannot stop praising the venue!!Everything went without a hitch from start to finish...and I'm not sure how many destination brides can say that - so thank you very much.In the runup we worked with Tahliah, Alisha, Rosa and Michelle a lot ...all were a pleasure to work with, professional and very accommodating.As for the day of the wedding, from the moment I went through those iron gates I just felt overcome with serenity. EVERYTHING was taken care of, which allowed me to remain in the moment, not stress and ENJOY marrying my best friend.I don't have a negative word - it was perfect - and I'd marry (my hubby!!) again just to marry at Hummingbird :)Love,Pam and Dean

I would say the wedding planning was choppy - their additional extras cost a lot - eg extra people on the golf cart tour and non standard flowers - but our actual wedding was slick and professionally run.

We had a rustic themed wedding at hummingbird hall in August.Our colours were purple and gold. We chose the standard buffet and had the standard package without the band. We had 30 guests. We used Hummingbird’s Full alcoholic bar but with top shelf liquor we brought ourselves.We had debated about having a church wedding ceremony but decided instead on having everything at Hummingbird. In the end it worked out well. I was worried about the changeover but our guests said they enjoyed looking at the art during Cocktails. Our favourite part of our experience was Hummingbird’s hospitality and willingness to assist us and our guests. The organiziation and planning part can seem a little overwhelming, but it was worth it in the end. Everything was coordinated well. We don't have any reservations on how the event, staff, decorations, service etc were handled. We are very pleased with the service we received from the initial consultation all the way to getting our certificates through the post with one exception.Exception being: our experience with the wire process/Rosa in accounts. Their contract states that there are penalties if the money is late. On one occasion the bank took 9 days to transfer our money and even though we weren’t charged a penalty in the end Rosa’s attitude could have been more understanding/nicer (hence the 4.5/5 for flexibility). We’d still recommend the venue though.

Wow!! Our wedding was August 14th 2011 and it was a talk of the town. When my husband and I was looking for Venue, we where just not getting what we always envision upon till one day we came across Hummingbird Hall, it was just so beautiful. I could never took my eyes off the website, until we where contacted by Alisha with the help of Michelle (staff member) who was so prompt. At first we thought we could never afford a wedding ,but Alisha and her staff work around our budget and it was just stress free!! From the start to finish Alisha was just amazing!We both live in Canada and we where just so amazed with the quick responses the staffs were just so professional!! The location is very beautiful, not to mention the food, the service(we were treated very well) One thing i can say though that Alisha always have plan B, she's just great with what she does. i could never imagine a wedding day without Hummingbird Hall..upon till today we are just so happy that we choose this venue. We had originally planned on hiring a planner and separate venue but thank God we found Hummingbird in the end.We had a tele-conference with Alisha round about booking and were sold.I let her know I’m a bit of a control freak and by no means an easy bride *smile*Her attitude then..and ever since..has been one of professionalism…courtesy.. patience (PATIENCE!!) and just genuine pleasure. Throughout the course of the year I probably changed my mind 100s of times on wedding details/ décor plans . Each time, I simply shot off an email to the ladies at Hummingbird and they made the change happen.Whether I was on their live chat (keeping them up way past closing time) or on the phone – I just felt the ladies were attentive and wanted what we wanted: a perfect wedding.I’ll admit - the week I arrived in Jamaica I did have a lot of anxiety. Alisha and her ladies were very supportive and a calming influence. In fact, Alisha even met with me the day after the Rehearsal at our resort: I appreciated that.The day of my wedding everything worked out PERFECTLY with Michelle as my day of planner. She did not miss a thing and everything was as agreed.I truly loved my wedding and working with Hummingbird Hall. In fact, we’d like “publicly” to highlight a few people who made our day/experience extra special.- Tahlia: thanks for doing a great job on the site- Rev Hind: thanks for making us so relaxed and our ceremony so meaningful and sincere- Michelle / Lola: thanks for the time you spent with us on the live chat. I dreamed of a special day and it came true. I now wonder why I was such a worrier! The table settings were unlike any wedding I have ever attended. Nothing plastic or cheap just very classy. They took care of absolutely everything. We never felt rushed and the staff were enjoying us as much as we were enjoying them. Everything was awesome!

It was extremely important that our wedding was beautiful - obviously- but even more it was important that our wedding represented a goodinvestment and value for money.In February we held a wedding for 120 close family and friends atHH. we wanted a venue that could accommodate our guests comfortably,but was also intimate and personal enough for everyone to feel included.As we had chosen not to have a wedding in a resort - securitywas another v important factor.On all counts HH proved the perfect choice.The staff at HH were also very knowledgeable and professional. Rev Edwards set the tone v well, and our guests were servedquickly when it came to the meal service. The food was also very tasty.THe DJ took note of our pre selected songs and the venue was decked out beautifully.HH deserve their good reputation. Without question:10/10.

Wow! Where to start! Our wedding at Hummingbird Hall was superb. Truly truly superb. The air there is full of love and we will never forget the amazing memories we made there.It's difficult to narrow the specific reasons why we (and our guests) are still on a high from our wedding, but things that particularly stand out: 1.Staff before hand. Michelle – totally amazing miracle worker. We were getting buried in the bureaucracy of Jamaica trying to acquire documents which we needed for the wedding licence – this led to many, many sleepless nights. We happened to mention this to Michelle one night on the chat – and *amazingly* she sorted everything out. Our WEEKS of worry were solved in one conversation – we cannot thank her enough2.Staff @ the wedding. They were so nice! Even our guests commented- we were always greeted with a smile, “yah mon”, “no problem” and “respect”. 3.The food – delicious. We had the curried chicken, sweet and sour fish and jerk pork.4.Décor – Alisha – hands down – bustles with talent. She condensed all of our emails into the most 'look'. Our centerpieces – or – as she says “tablescapes” were stunning.The people there combined with the scenery make this one of the most unique and happiest place we've visited and the most perfect venue for our wedding.Do we recommend this place? Certainly!

Our agent suggested we take a look at Hummingbird Hall so we took a visit to the property in June. We had initially had our heart set on a Negril beach wedding however from the moment we walked in we knew Hummingbird Hall was our place. The view is out-of-this world and the house just has an immediate warmth that grabbed us. It may be the yellow, it may be the gardens, but it has a very happy and loving energy.Our gut feeling was right!Our wedding at Hummingbird was *insert superlative here* . I know everyone probably thinks that their wedding rocks (!) but ours really did ;-)The food -- the staff -- the decorations -- the butterflies -- the location -- the bunch of herbs they gave to my mum from the garden EVERYTHING about our wedding felt so special. We have nothing but thanks and praise for Hummingbird Hall!

We held our wedding with 80 guests at hummingbird Hall in November. Everything went wonderfully. I highly commend the location and staff. They were not pushy and pulled off our vision. We had not visited the location before our wedding, so were extremely relieved that everything turned out so well.Particular mention need go to Michelle and Alisha for their support and performance.Our only complaint is that it took 4 weeks for our Wedding Certificate to arrive after our wedding. h/e Hummingbird Hall did a great job and we are very satisfied customers.

HUMMINGBIRD HALL IN MONTEGO BAY,JAMAICA.My daughter and husband who are from the uk had their wedding and reception at the Hummingbird Hall in Jamaica on the 27th October. as the MOB(mother of the bride) may I say the service we recieved was second to none,The creative director Alisha,was very professional at all times, warm and very informative,she was very flexible, accomodating with her ideas, and catered to our every need.contact by email or phone was immediate,which made you feel at ease,especially us being in the UK.We found Hummingbird after a disasterous experience with a previous wedding planner went horriblily wrong, we're glad that it did now.The venue was to die for,with panoramic views of the sea,while the wedding setting was surrounded by an infinity pool,a beautiful gazebo where the ceremony was held.At Hummingbird you recieve that personal feeling, as if you were having your wedding in your own surroundings at home.Our family and friends were more than impressed with our choice of venue.and will recomend Hummingbird Hall to everyone wishing to get married in jamaica.Please feel free to contact me in the uk for more info at angelabailey93@msn.com.Thanks again Alisha.

I highly recommend this venue! Hummingbird Hall is an amazingly beautiful place and the service is equally fantastic. I was expecting perfection and they surpassed my expectations. Fast and accurate communication with people who genuinely care about what they are dong. I felt so welcome and so stress free. We considered several other venues in Jamaica and Mexico--we are beyond thrilled we went with Hummingbird. I highly, highly recommend them. From start to finish, it was a dream come true. Great attention to detail, and they went above and beyond what they were contracted to do. If you want to have a stress free destination wedding in paradise where you enter and leave feeling relaxed and like royalty, go with Hummingbird! I can't express how amazing the people, the location, and the service were. (And the chicken was delicious!) Top notch service from people who honestly care.

Overall we loved our wedding, and wouldnt change a thing (except the weather).Loved the service, loved the decor - we didnt have a ton to spend so they made what we had work well. food also delish. It rained like mad though (I'm talking near storm) - so we didnt get the golf cart tour which is a shame because we couldnt take pictures on the beach. We did take a drive to the top though - great great view - can imagine how picturesque it would have been if the sun had been shining.We were a small wedding (20) so opted not to have a marquee to deal with the rain - we just used the parts of the Deck that were already covered which worked well. Beware though - when it rains in Jamaica it REALLY rains.Special mention also needs to go to their staff. I felt they bent over backwards for our guests which made all the diffrence. Patrick was shuttling guests between their cars using an umbrella and got utterly soaked to make sure our guests didnt! He also dropped one of our guests to the Iberostar because their taxi was taking too long to arrive.Overall thumbs up. No regrets at all.

What can I say? From start to finish a professional service. The venue is out of this world. Hummingbird Hall is a modern Great House, stylishly and elegant on the inside with an amazing garden. My day of wedding coordinator was Michelle who dealt with my pre-wedding nerves calmly and professionally. The only drawback was the tight security on the gates leading to the estate. On reflection this added an extra exclusivity to the venue and made me feel even more lucky to have found Hummingbird Hall.

I just got in.....somehow I am still in the fairy tale world you created for the most beautiful, most romantic, most incredible wedding day. Nicola and I and our husbands will never forget this day. Hummingbird Hall are simply wonderful.We had a beautiful simple sunset elopement ceremony followed by a private dinner surrounded by candles with a butler under the stars.It really could not have been better.We appreciated the way Hummingbird Hall made everything so easy as it was our first time to Jamaica and everything had to be planned online.They also had surprise touches that added to the romance like finding us books of Caribbean poetry when we mentioned that we both write... Hummingbird Hall really is a place to get married if you want something different away from the maddening crowd. There were no other tourists, screaming children or pushy sellers like in the resorts on some of the other islands we have visited. Just an exquisite location, privacy and attentive staff.

Humming Bird Hall are definitely a great choice. We hope this review helps othersWe had a wedding for 60 people on Saturday.We found Humming Bird online. We were actually agonizing between Humming Bird and another more established venue for some time but chose Hummingbird because:1. Alisha! Alisha is Humming Bird's inhouse planner and probably the most efficient person on the island lol She answered our emails very quickly and made the whole thing simple, organised and...did we say organised already? She really is a pleasure to work with and we appreciate how detail orientated she is!2. Location - we had stayed at the Hilton b4 and so had an idea about Rose Hall. Humming Bird is actually on the golf course opposite the Hilton so it worked great. We stayed at Hilton the night b4 our wedding and our parents stayed at Hummingbird.3. Cost - the cost was right4. Package - it included everything we had hope for and moreWe arrived in Jamaica on the Thursday. Everything was done before we got there (marriage license, flower choices) so all we really did was meet with Alisha (young, energetic and professional) and I had a makeup trial with Rochelle. Our parents stayed at Hummingbird so on Friday we had a pool party / chillout. It was informal and relaxed - Hummingbird organised for a jerk cookout and steel band. Went down well.The actual wedding was simply perfect. We had a ceremony under the gazebo on the deck. We wrote our own vows and the pastor set the tone perfectly. They even gave us a surprise butterfly release! After the ceremony we went on the golf cart tour and got pictures taken on the beach and golf course. Had lovely moments. When we returned to Hummingbird the deck had been changed to our reception venue (stunning). Our reception was great. We had great food - jerk pork, fried chicken and fish. The chef did a good job (thank you) and we had an open bar. The cake was totally brilliant - we had emailed Alisha our own design and the baker did it well. Our entertainment was the DJ who played a whole range of music and had everyone up and dancing til the wee hours. We had agreed to end by 11pm, but as we were all having such a great time they let us party longer.I hope this review helps. We really loved our Hummingbird wedding (got home yesterday).
